TraC: A Trajectory-aware Content distribution strategy for vehicular networks

چکیده
In vehicular networking, contacts have short duration and may seldom occur. Hence, maximizing the amount of data transferred per contact opportunity is of utmost importance. In this work, we propose TraC which combines network nodes caching, typically used in Content-Centric Networks (CCNs), and users’ trajectory knowledge. The idea is to improve data delivery by proactively caching the content requested by users over the access points along their trajectories to destination. To accomplish this, we use the network formed by access points to forward individual interests containing information regarding users’ destination. In addition, we develop two forwarding strategies consistent with the content oriented paradigm, and a neighborhood discovery protocol, required for the operation of the proposed forwarding strategies. The results obtained through simulations in highway, urban, and rush-hour scenarios show that TraC can increase the fraction of interests ∗Corresponding author. Intelligent popularity-aware content caching and retrieving in highway vehicular networks
Content dissemination over vehicular networks is a critical challenge due to its high intermittent connectivity. However, content cache and retrieval by exploiting the information-centric networking (ICN) paradigm did not get much attention. In this paper, in order to improve the efficiency of content retrieval, we propose a novel popularity-aware content caching and retrieving strategy in VANE...
متن کاملNetwork coding with crowdsourcing-based trajectory estimation for vehicular networks
It is a great challenge to transmit data in vehicular networks, where the link among nodes is very shaky because of the rapid movement of vehicles. In this paper, we propose a Network Coding with Crowdsourcing-based Trajectory Estimation (NC/CTE) method to transmit data in vehicular networks. Key points are designated beforehand in movement area. Every node estimates which of Key points the oth...
متن کاملSurvey the Security Function of Integration of vehicular ad hoc Networks with Software-defiend Networks
In recent years, Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) have emerged as one of the most active areas in the field of technology to provide a wide range of services, including road safety, passenger's safety, amusement facilities for passengers and emergency facilities. Due to the lack of flexibility, complexity and high dynamic network topology, the development and management of current Vehicular A...

This paper explains trajectory⁃based data forwarding schemes for multihop data delivery in vehicular networks where the trajectory is the GPS navigation path for driving in a road network. Nowadays, GPS⁃based navigation is popular with drivers either for efficient driv⁃ ing in unfamiliar road networks or for a better route, even in familiar road networks with heavy traffic. In this paper, we de...
متن کاملA-STAR: A Mobile Ad Hoc Routing Strategy for Metropolis Vehicular Communications
One of the major issues that affect the performance of Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANET) is routing. Recently, position-based routing for MANET is found to be a very promising routing strategy for inter-vehicular communication systems (IVCS). However, position-based routing for IVCS in a built-up city environment faces greater challenges because of potentially more uneven distribution of vehicular...
